How to Pick a Garden Hose Swivel

Every garden hose sold in the US carries the same thread, called GHT, cut at 3/4 inch with 11.5 threads per inch. Fit is rarely the problem. The real decisions are placement, ends, and material.

Placement first. Put a swivel wherever the hose fights you. At the spigot it lets the hose lay flat while you drag it around the truck. At the pump inlet it takes the twist out before it can back a coupling loose mid job. On a reel it keeps the hose from corkscrewing as it winds up.
