Match the Surface Cleaner Deck to Your GPM

The spray bar under the deck needs steady volume to spin fast and overlap its passes. Put a 28 inch deck on a 4 GPM machine and you get stripes, slow rotation, and callbacks. As a working rule: 4 GPM machines run 16 to 20 inch decks, 5.5 to 8 GPM machines run 20 to 24 inch decks, and 8 GPM and up earns the 28 to 30 inch production decks. Bigger is only faster when the water keeps up.

Chemicals Do Half the Work

Bare water leaves gray concrete gray. For organics like algae and mildew, a sodium hypochlorite post-treat from our concrete cleaning chemicals brightens the slab and slows regrowth. Oil and grease want a degreaser dwell before the pass, and heavy petroleum staining really wants hot water on top of that. Orange rust staining and irrigation stains need an acid-based product from mineral stain removers, not more pressure. Edges and corners the deck cannot reach get finished with a turbo nozzle on the wand.
