Frequently Asked Questions

What hose diameter do I need?

Match hose ID to pump GPM. 3/8" hose handles up to about 5.5 GPM. Above that, use 1/2" to avoid pressure loss from flow restriction. Longer hose runs also lose pressure - upsize if running 200+ feet.

How do I extend the life of my pressure hose?

Use a hose reel to prevent kinking and UV damage. Drain the hose after use in freezing weather. Avoid dragging across sharp edges. Replace worn O-rings at connections to prevent leaks.

Should I get a spring-rewind or manual reel?

Spring-rewind saves time and keeps hose tidy automatically. Manual reels cost less and have fewer parts to maintain. For daily commercial use, spring-rewind pays for itself in time savings.

Can I use a regular garden hose as a supply line?

Yes, but use a heavy-duty, kink-resistant garden hose rated for the flow your pump needs. A kinked or restricted supply hose starves the pump and causes cavitation damage.

How long should my high-pressure hose be?

Use the shortest hose that reaches your work area. Every 50 feet of hose costs you some pressure at the gun. Most contractors run 100-200 feet. For longer runs, upsize the diameter.
