Common Honda Engine Problems

Won't Start After Storage

Most common complaint. Fuel varnishes inside the carburetor during months of storage. Varnish clogs fuel passages preventing fuel flow. Solution: Carburetor cleaning.

Rough Idle or Stalling

Dirty carburetor. Idle circuit clogged. We clean the carburetor thoroughly to restore smooth idling.

Loss of Power

Runs but loses power under load. Fouled spark plug, dirty air filter, or partially clogged fuel filter. We perform full tune-up: replace spark plug, clean/replace air filter, verify fuel flow.

Overheating

Cooling fins clogged with grass or dirt. We clean cooling fins and verify adequate air circulation. We check choke function.

Hard Starting in Cold Weather

Choke system issue. We inspect and repair the choke mechanism.
