Match It to Your Flow
Injectors are sized by the flow of the machine, not by what you are spraying. Put a 2-3 GPM injector on an 8 GPM machine and you choke the line and lose pressure. Installation and Maintenance
Plumb it downstream of the pump and the unloader, before the hose reel if you can reach it. Use PTFE tape or pipe sealant on the pipe threads and snug it, but do not crank on brass. Run the chemical line to the barb and clamp it.
Rinse the injector with clean water at the end of every acid job. This is the whole ballgame. Acid left sitting in the check valve overnight is what kills these, not pressure and not hours. Drop the draw hose in a bucket of fresh water, open the collar all the way, and pull a minute of clean water through it before you pack up.
If draw goes weak, work the list in order: orifice too large for your flow, debris on the ceramic ball, a swollen or cracked o-ring, an air leak at the barb, or a chemical bucket sitting too far below the injector. It is almost never the body.

Nine times out of ten it is the nozzle. A downstream injector only draws with a low pressure soap tip on the gun. If the soap tip is on and it still will not pull, check for debris on the check ball, a bad o-ring, or an air leak at the hose barb.
Does the chemical go through my pump?
No. Downstream means it enters the line after the pump. Your pump, unloader, and hose reel only see water. That is the reason to run one at all.
