A whip line is a short, flexible high pressure hose that goes between your gun and your main hose, or between the pump and the reel. It takes the twisting and flexing that would otherwise wear out the end of your expensive hose, and it makes the gun far easier to handle because you are not fighting a stiff 3/8" line at the wrist.
If you are replacing a whip line, match three things: the inside diameter of your existing hose, the length you need, and a pressure rating at or above your machine's output.
Which one do I need?
- 3/8" ID - the standard for most contractor machines up to about 8 GPM.
- 1/2" ID - for higher flow machines where 3/8" would restrict volume.
- 2' to 4' - gun-end whips, the most common replacement.
- 6' to 15' - reel-to-pump jumpers and longer gun leads.
- 4000 PSI - covers most contractor cold water units.
- 4500 PSI - for machines running above 4000 PSI.
All whip lines ship with standard fittings on both ends. Buy the rating above your machine, never below it.
