Doing the Reseal Right the First Time
Kill the machine, then squeeze the trigger on the gun to bleed off stored pressure before a wrench touches anything. People skip this step and get sprayed for it. Bleeding the line down takes about three seconds.
With the swivel open, clean the grooves down to bare metal. A crumb of old rubber or a speck of sand left behind will hold the new seal off its seat and you will be right back where you started. A thin film of silicone grease on each new o-ring helps it slide into place instead of rolling and pinching during assembly.
Common Questions
My swivel still leaks after new o-rings. Now what?
That usually means the sealing surfaces are worn, which o-rings alone will not correct. At that point step up to the complete swivel kit that covers these reels.
How often should these get replaced?
There is no fixed interval published for them. Most crews swap them when the drip starts, though replacing them during winter downtime beats discovering the leak halfway through a customer driveway on a Saturday morning.
Do you charge for shipping on a part this small?
